Marine Corps System Command (MCSC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Logistician to join our team at Stafford, Virginia. The Logistician will be responsible for managing logistics activities related to the acquisition, procurement, and sustainment of equipment and materials for Marine Corps programs and projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support the mission of MCSC by ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of critical resources to the warfighter.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee logistics planning and execution activities to support Marine Corps programs and projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and objectives.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop and implement logistics strategies and plans that meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Manage the acquisition and procurement of equipment, materials, and supplies, including conducting market research, soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and issuing purchase orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and track the movement of materials and equipment through the supply chain, ensuring timely delivery and availability to support project milestones.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, evaluating their performance and capabilities, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Coordinate transportation and distribution logistics, including arranging shipments, managing freight contracts, and tracking delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery of goods and materials.
• Conduct logistics assessments and analyses to identify risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the supply chain and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing logistics operations, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements.
• Prepare reports and presentations on logistics performance, trends, and metrics, and present findings to project teams and senior leadership as needed.
• Support the development and implementation of logistics policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of MCSC's logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a government or military environment.
• Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and processes, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex logistics issues and develop innovative solutions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Successfully pass a T1 investigation. Candidates with a security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
