Logistics, Inventory and Facilities Specialist (LIF)

Overview:

The logistics and facilities specialist will ensure successful refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of a police training facility in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The LIF will handle the continuous management of the logistics involved with running the facility’s upgrades and manage the program’s inventory and facility’s maintenance

****This position is contingent upon contract award****

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the refurbishment of the training facility to ensure it is suitable for training activity and manage its ongoing maintenance

Manage and securely store equipment and assets, including non-lethal ammunition for training, procured by the contractorDesign and administer an inventory control plan.Prepare schedules and plans for incoming and stored equipment and utilize a records system/database to track in stock and distributed inventory, including non-lethal ammunition, effectively and securelyCoordinate with the Project Manager to ensure compliance with all contract requirementsServe as a subject matter expert on the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed infrastructure, logistics, and inventory plans and identify the resources required to implement these optionsSupervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise local national staff as required

 

Education and/or Experience:Minimum five (5) years' experience working in facility maintenance and inventory management in an international settingDemonstrated supervisory or lead inventory specialist level experience in difficult to operate environmentsMinimum three (3) years’ experience with deploying infrastructure/inventory management projects, in an international setting, preferably in the Caribbean or Latin AmericaExperience as an armorer or in administering and managing inventory control of ammunition, preferably in an international setting.Demonstrated experience coordinating and conducting successful programs in foreign languages, possibly using simultaneous interpretation Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated expertise and ability to solve complex and unusual managerial issues while exercising independent judgmentProficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Speak, read, and write in fluent EnglishFluent in French and/or Creole (desired but not required).Experience working in HaitiAbility to work effectively under pressure within short time constraints, and during times of rapidly developing eventsNo negative prior experience working with INL, and never removed from any USG mission or civilian policing activity

 Security Clearance:

Position requires U.S. Citizenship to obtain a MRPT Level clearance.

Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered investigation for an MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust).

 

Physical Demands:

The usual office environment

 

Travel:

Travel to Haiti required.

 

Work Environment:

Office or training facility.
