JOB SUMMARY:
This role will be responsible for origin operations with direction and guidance to freight forwarders for cargo flow. This position will be accountable to reducing CFS dwell, ensuring all cargo moves within the desired timeline for WSI’s inbound and outbound supply chain. The candidate must oversee reliability in the supply chain and drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost control and service.
This role interacts with WSI vendors, 3PL suppliers, carriers and internal WSI/WSGO Sourcing teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Moving ocean freight and coordination with shipping lines and NVOCC Analysis and optimization of international transportation network, optimum cbm utilization and awareness of business systems uses/interfaces. Reduce cost-per-cbm and service opportunities through leveraging WSI Carrier network and Consolidation facilities Strong working knowledge of Asia, Europe and Subcon to US origin import process: Cargo, Data, Documentation flows. Business-management report development using BI tools. Business process SOP documentation. Collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure overall operational success Act as key interface between WSO and External customers provide day-to-day logistics support. Other duties as assigned.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
You will work with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. Internally, this role will partner closely with WSO teams, such as Global Inventory team, Supply Chain team, etc. Externally, this role will require close partnership with WSI’s Logistics partners and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4 years Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Transportation/Logistics 5+ years of progression in Ocean freight management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and drive change based on findings. Good Leadership skills Proven track record of managing multiple highly complex projects and change management General knowledge of supply chain principles, project management and Six Sigma beneficial Ability to analyze current processes and drive change based on findings Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and with external providers Proficient in all MS Office, with strong capability in database applications like SQL server, Excel, Power Query and Access. Knowledge of MS Projects, GTNexus, QlikView, EDI. Lean, Six Sigma and Visio is preferred. Knowledge of Customs/Trade compliance would be a plus.#LI-KW1
