We are looking for a dedicated Logistics Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover fixed term contract at our Crawley, West Sussex facility.  This is an onsite role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our workplace. 

Role Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for import and exports of worldwide shipments, ensuring all activities are undertaken to maximize levels of customer satisfaction and in strict compliance with export and other shipping regulations and Company policies. 

In this role, you will join a friendly and collaborative team where a positive and welcoming work environment supports your growth and success.  You will work closely with a global team, dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service, from project bidding through to project delivery.

What YOU will do in this role:

You will arrange import & export shipments via Air Freight, Sea Freight & Road Freight, raise Chamber of Commerce / Customs documentation including legalization of documents, managing online forms for the efficient, cost effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities

You will liaise with Freight Forwarders and Couriers to make Logistic bookings, review costs and services for freight forwarders and approval of freight invoices supplied by the carriers

You will maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export law and procedures; tariffs and duties; licenses’ and restrictions, work to tight deadlines, and respond to client priorities, and work schedules.

Ensure re-export of products are processed in compliant with the rules and regulations depending on reason of export, i.e., repair, FOC warranty, exhibition.

Liaison with Head/Regional Offices in Europe, South & North America, and the Far East

Communicate with related authorities, customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities

Handling Hazardous Export shipments

Tracking & Tracing consignments through to arrival

Liaising with internal & external customers to resolve any shipping issues which arise.

Clear understanding of current INCOTERMS

Packing of consignments, which includes palletising consignments

Loading and offloading collection/delivery vehicles, and maintain records accordingly

Receiving goods into the company, and closing out P/O’s on in-house system

Maintain records of all Logistic operations on to in-house database

Approve supplier invoices and challenge any inaccuracies

Represent the Department Manager in their absence as required

What YOU will learn:

You will learn our processes and procedures from attending project calls through to delivery and gain experience of our import and export requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Extensive export compliance experience with UK & EU regulations, and knowledge of US Export Controls.

Up to date knowledge of ATA Carnet and applying for Certificates of Origin.

Excellent IT skills ideally with experience of internal systems and tools including MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and a high level of MS Excel experience.

Good task/ time management skills will be required, as are self-motivation skills.

Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise will be required, and ability to communicate at a good level internally and across departments.

Proven record of achievement and ability with emphasis on airfreight processes, customer service, administration and financial awareness

Customer Service and communication skills are required.

Proven organizational skills.

Attention to detail skills will be required.

Must have hands on approach.
