Description
We are on the search for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team near Rutherford, New Jersey. This role is deeply entrenched in the logistics industry, dealing with tasks such as directing the flow of air/ocean traffic to overseas destinations, maintaining shipment documentation, and resolving customer issues. This presents a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process and manage air/ocean freight, ensuring timely movement of shipments.
• Accurately maintain shipment documentation and records using dedicated software systems.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolving any issues and fostering mutual agreements.
• Assess charges, collect fees, and facilitate billing for shippers and foreign customers.
• Ensure conformity of invoices and shipping manifests to tariff and customs regulations.
• Prepare transaction reports and quotations under the guidance of the immediate supervisor.
• Organize and manage workload to handle volume of activity.
• Report significant difficulties to the air/ocean export manager, as needed.
• Leverage skills in Cargowise, Customer Service, Import Export, and Logistics to perform tasks efficiently.
Requirements • Demonstrable experience in the Logistics industry.
• Proficiency in using Cargowise software for logistics management.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Comprehensive understanding of import and export processes and regulations.
• Proven track record in coordinating logistics operations, including shipping and delivery.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and transportation.
• Experience in inventory control and supply chain management.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well.
