Strip coils is our focus and shipping a wide range of alloys makes UOC unique.Come grow with us and be part of our promising future!Job DescriptionWe currently have as an opening for a Logistics Coordinator.This position requires an "in person presence" in Pico Rivera. The successful candidate will assess inbound and outbound freight charges, freight classifications, delivery schedules, carrier capabilities and transportation regulations to ensure efficient, cost effective, and on-time product shipment. Prepare required documentation to accompany shipments and maintains appropriate records.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Review completed orders to ensure that the freight terms and any special shipping instructions are being followed.Notify customers or contact the appropriate freight carriers to arrange shipments to meet requested ship dates.Prepare required shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Material Certifications, shipping labels, and export paperwork.Communicate with freight forwarders to verify bookings to ensure that export orders are picked up and shipped on a timely basis.Attach the shipping paperwork and labels to skids and load freight onto carrier trucks using fork trucks and pallet jacks.Coordinate the shipment of all inbound mill stock material, intracompany transfers, and customer returns to the service center.Manage the internal pre-receipt and receiving process for all inbound freight and properly label, receive in and put away all new inventory.Communicate any shipping conflicts with Production staff, Management, and Sales (credit holds, freight terms, shipping errors, ship-to locations, pick-up delays).Maintain shipping records, including providing tracking or shipping history information on request.Review and update the international ship list and internal shipment logs and scan and file required documentation for completed orders.Respond to and research freight billing questions from customers and external freight payment services.Assist the Production department as needed to expedite completion of orders.Coordinate the periodic collection and shipment of production scrap to an outside scrap vendor.Coordinate the periodic shipment of steel cores back to the mill.Assist with the reporting and reviewing of the monthly delivery performance metrics and root cause analysis investigation on late orders.Assist with periodic inventory counts, scrapping out of any obsolete inventory, and the annual physical inventory.May be responsible for managing the purchasing of various packaging, shipping, and office supplies.Work safely, follow all service center safety procedures and ensure that all freight carriers are adhering to the procedures.Pay Range:$65K - $75K annuallyQualificationsQualified candidates should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, an associate degree is preferred.
