Job Title: Logistics Coordinator
Responsibilities
+ Managing the order book and service hauler base for an assigned territory or region. Responsibilities include receiving orders, assembling logistics plans, scheduling deliveries of construction and non-construction materials, and soliciting new business.
+ Ensures the correct products and quantities are delivered in a timely manner, maintains records of daily production orders, and processes accounts payable and receivable.
+ Attracting new and maintaining current hauler/carrier relationships, as well as managing all hauler files.
+ Receive orders via email, phone, or internal messaging system.
+ Enter orders into an internal proprietary system (25 to 30 orders a day).
+ Follow up with customers regarding their orders, back order information, and updating order details.
+ Assemble and actively manage the daily logistics plan for the assigned territory or region.
+ Manage all logistics and material orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
+ Procure sufficient carriers to fulfill all delivery obligations.
+ Maintain appropriate levels of customer contact to ensure exceptional service.
+ Communicate with the construction aggregate order management group, sales, and operations manager.
+ Prepare and maintain delivery data, reports, and records of daily production orders.
+ Solicit new orders/business that complements the daily logistics plan.
+ Maintain and improve process efficiencies.
+ Conduct job site visits to interact with customer contacts and carriers.
+ Negotiate rates with carriers and potential dump sites.
+ Develop annual territory plans.
+ Conduct annual carrier reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
+ Transportation experience.
+ Dispatching experience.
+ Knowledge of the trucking industry.
+ Order entry experience (no particular system required).
+ Customer service skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer skills.
+ Punctuality.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00
