About the Position: Position is for GROUND COMBAT SYSTEMS R&S DIR, ABRAMS, MODERNIZATION, & LOGISTICS DIV PM MBTS - MATRIX SPT. Responsibilities Develop integrated logistics support plans which address all the principal elements of total life-cycle planning for assigned program, including maintenance plans, manpower and personnel, training and training devices, support equipment. Assure availability of logistics support information required to coordinate and develop material fielding plans, fielding agreements with users, and other long and short-range planning documents. Direct and coordinate logistic support to test operations by establishing procedures that will ensure the support system. Develop and coordinate contract scopes of work for logistics support, with maintenance and supply, from concept through production. Performs technical evaluation of contract proposals. Direct participating NICP/NMP managers to take specific actions related to ensuring full support for deployed and/or deploying system/subsystems. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:(1) Analyzing reports to determine the quantities that can be procured most economically; AND (3) Providing maintenance support in most or all of the broad equipment life-cycle stages; AND (3) Translating complex vehicle or weapon system operation or maintenance information into easily readable, end-user instructional manuals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/Procurement Planning and Evaluating Supply Support Support Equipment Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Position is designated non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a secret security clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics within 36 months of entrance on duty. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years.
