About the Position: Logistics Management Specialist, AMCOM LOGISTICS CENTER, ACQ AND SUST LOG DIR. Multiple vacancies may be filled using this announcement. Responsibilities Coordinate and exercise managerial direction over the integration of new equipment training, fielding, redistribution of items, and disposal for assigned weapon systems during all phases of the life cycle. Coordinate information, conduct research, analyze the material and integrate into logistics assignment. Assign, oversee, and view work of team members to include Major Item Distribution Plan and budget for assigned weapon systems. Visit users of the weapon systems to evaluate logistics support and to provide advice and assistance on logistic problems. Maintain liaison relationships with other organizations and other agencies as well as industry to review and analyze reports for assigned systems to determine solutions for logistics problems to circumvent potential program issues. Apply a variety of analytical methods and techniques to unique and complex logistics matters. Review and analyze report for weapon system to determine solutions to logistics problems. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Coordinating and executing the deployment of a materiel system and its support. Experience in processes designed to achieve an orderly and satisfactory deployment of a system and its initial support, beginning with the first unit equipped, and continuing until fielding of all planned units is complete; supporting major weapons systems at the field or unit level in three or more areas of logistic operations or management programs e.g., deployment, foreign military sales, procurement, maintenance, supply, training, distribution, provisioning, and readiness to include the technical ability to resolve major weapon system issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Product Support Management Technical Competence Technical Data Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
