Responsibilities Coordinate and exercise managerial direction over the integration of new equipment training, fielding, redistribution of items, and disposal for assigned weapon systems during all phases of the life cycle. Coordinate information, conduct research, analyze the material and integrate into logistics assignment. Assign, oversee, and view work of team members to include Major Item Distribution Plan and budget for assigned weapon systems. Visit users of the weapon systems to evaluate logistics support and to provide advice and assistance on logistic problems. Maintain liaison relationships with other organizations and other agencies as well as industry to review and analyze reports for assigned systems to determine solutions for logistics problems to circumvent potential program issues. Apply a variety of analytical methods and techniques to unique and complex logistics matters. Review and analyze report for weapon system to determine solutions to logistics problems. Experience in processes designed to achieve an orderly and satisfactory deployment of a system and its initial support, beginning with the first unit equipped, and continuing until fielding of all planned units is complete; supporting major weapons systems at the field or unit level in three or more areas of logistic operations or management programs e.g., deployment, foreign military sales, procurement, maintenance, supply, training, distribution, provisioning, and readiness to include the technical ability to resolve major weapon system issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
