Logistics Management Specialist
Summary About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, Army Reserve G-4, Logistics Management Division, Systems Branch, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Responsibilities Performing evaluation of logistics automation and operations for the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) units/activities within the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC). Administer programs according to DA and DoD policies, work independently, and has latitude in directing, developing, and performing logistics management operations. Serve as the technical consultant to the supervisor and the A365 staff relative to the automation of logistics STAMIS functions to include fielding, repairs, operations, support, training, and preparation of reports, etc. Direct actions to automate various aspects of logistics management using STAMIS, e.g., GCSS-Army, Vantage, FAAST, A365, SAAS, AFMIS, CBS-X, etc. Perform analysis of existing systems and renders decisions pertinent to policies applicable to the Army Logistics Programs. Perform required research to correct deficient trends, operational standards, and instructs in new methods and practices. Develop automated reporting, narrative, and other guidance as appropriate for the logistics automation portion of the USARC RPA and OMAR budgets. Validate budget submissions relative to logistics automation and makes recommendations as to their adequacy in accomplishing logistics programs. Provide training of automated systems to Geographic and Functional Commands and Headquarters personnel. Develop scripts and visual aides for use in logistics briefings and training, e.g., orientation of Command Group, A365, Geographic and Functional Commanders, USAR Advisors, and other personnel involved in logistical support of the USAR. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Participating in the developing and implementing of policy and procedures for logistics systems management, operations; conducting field visits to secure, analyze, and evaluate causative factors and problem conditions; Performing required research to correct deficient trends, operational standards, and instructs in new methods and practices; Compiling reports of visits and inspections, outlining deficiencies and recommending remedial or other actions; Monitoring performance of automated systems to ensure accuracy of records and adherence to regulatory requirements; and Conducting technical review of reports prepared by logistics representatives of commodity commands. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Problem Solving Product Support Management Sustaining Engineering Technical Competence Training and Training Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
