About the Position: This position serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. The Army's Face to the World, the one-stop focal point for Army FMS, and the international partner of choice in U.S. Security Assistance. Responsibilities Serve as command advisor or consultant on technical issues or problems associated with assigned processes and systems. Serve as the Command focal point system manager to inform Country Program Management, Central Case Management, Major Subordinate Command, other agencies and customer country personnel of current procedures and processes on assigned processes. Participate in task groups to investigate system and process related problems to develop improvements to Security Assistance processes. Analyze, evaluate, coordinate and recommend changes to regulations to assure the overall Security Assistance goals and objectives are met. Develop training material and provides hands on training for users and stakeholders. Responsible for developing and maintaining the logistics system logic for the Army Security Assistance data base and the associated interface logic with external agency data bases. Brief all levels of US and foreign governments on assigned processes and projects. Chair or participate in research to investigate system and process related problems for Security Assistance processes. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development of new or improved logistics management processes within regulatory framework; consulting on technical issues or problems associated with assigned processes and systems; and extracting data from supporting logistical and financial databases to determine cause of problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Logistics, or Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting analysis by participating in study and task groups to address system-related issues and improve Security Assistance processes; developing new or improved logistics management processes within regulatory frameworks; and informing personnel about current procedures and processes related to assigned systems and projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-12 job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
