About the Position: This is a temporary promotion NTE 1 year but may be extended to 3 years. Position is subject to a six-month rotational deployment to Southwest Asia. Responsibilities Work in concert with weapon system teams, and Project / Product Managers (PMs) and contractor personnel to plan, develop, or manage logistic sustainment activities across an area of responsibility. Provide input, analysis, and review to Logistic Support Plans to determine spares, maintenance concepts, levels, and training requirements. Monitor the contract to assure the proper utilization of government funds and bring any significant deficiencies to the attention of the Contracting Officer. Review CECOM-LCMC budget preparation and development and approves program cost estimates and budget submissions from logistics element managers and ILS managers. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support programs for new and future weapon systems; AND 2) Adjusting corrective action plans, as necessary, to ensure customer expectations are met; AND 3) Coordinating with stakeholders in the development of agreements such as Statements of Work and/or Memorandums of Agreement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Influencing/Negotiating Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Reading Comprehension Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Positions may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 1 year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
