MISSION / SUMMARY:

This position reports directly to the Assistant Logistics Manager supporting safety improvements, is the liaison between the Finishing & Shipping personnel, rail and truck carriers, and Atlanta Supply Chain, actively supports inventory management to achieve targeted cost to serve.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Actively promote and model safety in all aspects of daily mill operations Provide shipping guidance to Finishing & Shipping personnel Responsible for clear and concise communication with rail and truck carriers Point of contact between Atlanta Supply Chain, mill Finishing & Shipping operations, and carriers Provide shipping guidance to offsite PPR warehouses Responsible for daily updates to Shipment Activity Management Tool (PPR SAM screen) Daily filing of shipping documents and other documents as assigned Responsible for setting up cycle counts for all PPR warehouse locations (Mill and offsite) Assist in performing cycle counts and/or physical inventories Responsible for verifying and approving truck detention Responsible for managing returns

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

2+ years experience in logistics supporting manufacturing preferred Self-starter with demonstrated ability to learn on the fly Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Supply Chain degree or related experience preferred Crystal Reporting, or other query based software, preferred

 

SKILLS:  Skills include but not limited to the following.

Effective written and verbal communications skills Strong problem solving skills Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word and Outlook SAP Business Software Knowledge preferred PPR Software knowledge preferred

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

 

Pay Range:  $46,560 - $58,200
