Job Description:

Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations & Products (RIOP) Logistics Planning Analyst is responsible for inventory storage utilization, optimizing storage efficiency, and improving facility operational results.


Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Work independently or with multi-functional teams to design and maintain replenishment strategies for production processesManage the day-to-day Inbound Logistics Center (ILC) replenishment process and associated personnelCreate/maintain all standard work for ILC replenishmentPerform inventory counts as neededPerform all Shelf-Life Expiration Date (SLED) audits to adhere to Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV) requirementsGather and analyze data on facility demand and material consumptionLead all Planning and Forecasting (PF)-to-ILC/ILC-to-PF changesLead or participate on cross-functional teams pursuing facility improvementsCollaborate with other supply chain teams to benchmark best practices and implement improvements

Top Candidates Will Have:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/business from an accredited college or universityPrior experience in SAP Mach1Previous experience in other Logistics/Supply Chain rolesDemonstrated understanding of factory material flow and assembly production operationsKnowledge of NPI and Engineering Change ProcessesStrong technical and data analysis skillsStrong customer focus and ability to influenceExperience using computers and Microsoft Office programs

Inventory Management:
• Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
• Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances.
• Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location.
• Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location.
• Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies.

Logistics Management:
• Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance.
• Works with logistics in a domestic environment.
• Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system.
• Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity.
• Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks.

Supply Chain Management:
• Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.
• Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
• Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.
• Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products.
• Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.

Summary Pay Range:

$79,800.00 - $119,760.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
