Caterpillar is seeking a Logistics Production Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you will lead the Point of Use Logistics team in delivering production material to the lineside Assembly process.  You will collaborate with the production teams in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.

Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processesAssures processes are followed to meet production schedulesDetermines priorities and sequences jobsSchedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirementsDetermines and executes disciplinary action when appropriateProcures and distributes production material to meet schedulesEnsures preventive maintenance is performed according to scheduleImplements and practices Lean Manufacturing using 6 Sigma and other available toolsEvaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce trainingSection Value Stream Mapping

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

A working knowledge of Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.A working knowledge in Talent Management: Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.A working knowledge of Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

Manufacturing experience with a focus on Point of Use Logistics Experience in leadership within manufacturing environmentGood communication, interpersonal and teamwork skillsAbility to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
