JOB SUMMARY

 

As a Logistics Specialist, you will have the chance to work directly with marketing, planning and plant operations teams as well as our trucking providers to ensure our customer’s loads are delivered timely, efficiently and without hassle. This role is located in Wichita, KS and is not open to remote locations.

 

DURING A TYPICAL DAY

Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and transportation providersNegotiate competitive truck rates with all our transportation providersForecast and manage inventories at multiple load origin and destination facilitiesAnalyze shipments and ensure product is being delivered in the most efficient mannerEnsure accuracy of transaction details with our systemsCollaborate across multiple business teams within the office and at production sitesProblem solve as situations arise with transportation providers, customers, and production sites  

QUALIFICATIONS: WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years’ experience in a corporate transportation/scheduling roleHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)Experience working within Database/CRM SoftwareWilling and able to work outside of regular business hours i.e., evening check ins and overnight on-call coverage.Ability to travel to plants and/or customer locations approximatley twice per year.
