Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist is a gatekeeper for providing accurate and timely information in the Shipping and Receiving Departments.

A person that would excel in this position would be proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and SAP (or eager to learn SAP). This person must be able to work independently and accomplish tasks on a daily and weekly basis and meet deadlines. We are constantly looking to improve processes. This person will be in a position to improve current processes to minimize repetitive/transactional work. Time management, attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical to success in this position.

What You Will Do:

· Resolve issues/discrepancies in shipments/deliveries, obtain proof of deliveries.

· Generate claims documentation.

· Generate certificate of analysis forms.

· Process documentation related to returns, maintain records.

· Generate Overage/Shortage/Damaged Notices (OSDN).

· Handle outstanding pick-up notices.

· Trace inbound and outbound shipments.

· Generate the documentation necessary to prepare a claim for problems in shipment/deliveries, including locating and reviewing the proof of delivery and bill of lading, determining if circumstances warrant making a claim, and initiating the claims process.

· Maintain files of bills of lading, etc.

· Communicate with trucking companies, operators, drivers, and vendors.

Position Details:

· Plant location: Joliet, IL

· Work week and shift: Sunday to Friday, 10 PM - 6 AM

· Compensation package offered: $24.50 / hour

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· 1 year experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and working with numerical data and spreadsheets.

· No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in a warehouse and distribution facility

· Experience using SAP

· Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records.

· Well-developed customer service, organization, and administrative skills.

· Basic understanding of shipping/receiving and warehouse operations is an asset.

· Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills.

· Must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work

· Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal)
