Job Description
We’re hiring a Logistics Specialist for our Pasadena, TX manufacturing site who will report to the Logistics & Supply Chain Manager. This position will be dedicated to ensuring all activity associated with the solvent sales business, production posting and indirect buying for Logistics and Supply Chain, at the Pasadena site.
You must be able to work a flexible schedule to include working outside of normal work hours, which will fluctuate to meet business needs.
Additional responsibilities include:
Responsibilities Actively participate in site safety and 5S programs Actively conduct and manage the Solvent sales lifecycle to include selling to customers through delivery and invoicing. This includes ensuring customer satisfaction with product quality, coordinating shipments to meet customer orders while proactively maximizing the limitations associated with storage capacity. Ensures optimization of the pricing formulas to maximize revenue based on understanding of Solvent market. Negotiates discounted prices for non-standard material with a metric for maximizing overall margin. Partners with multiple departments within the plant to optimize product mix.. Confirm accuracy and completion of process orders in SAP for all production units. Create indirect purchase requisitions using Ariba. Backs up other roles within department and performs other duties as needed. Physical Requirements and Environment Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications H.S. Diploma 3+ years’ Logistics experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You must be able to work a flexible schedule to include working outside of normal work hours, which may fluctuate to meet business needs. Proficient in SAP or another ERP, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal communications skills. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to shift priorities with short notice, while ensuring strict deadlines are met. Strong initiative skills, along with independent decision-making capabilities.
