Logistics Specialist

Role Overview

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Supply Operations teams within Supply Chain Management to ensure that the best value is obtained from various logistical operations. You will provide essential administrative support related to the movement of goods and handle other day-to-day tasks associated with logistical requirements. Additionally, you will assist with a variety of activities within the department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Your support will be crucial in coordinating and managing logistical processes, helping optimise efficiency and contributing to the overall success of the team. You will be a key player in ensuring that all logistical operations run seamlessly and that the department's needs are consistently met.

Key accountabilities for Logistics specialist include:

Ensure compliance with logistics plans, processes, and procedures while coordinating logistics within the Supply Chain teams and across the business. You will understand the various warehouse operations related to the activities of Carnival UK. 

Book and utilise containers and trailers in line with legislation (ISPM, DEFRA, etc.), and support team members in best logistics practices. Produce ship loading plans for Southampton turnarounds, coordinating supplier deliveries and managing global Carnival UK deliveries. Booking of Stevedores, ISPS details, and security, while challenging costs and requirements when necessary.  Booking and tracking sea, air, and road shipments, monitoring deliveries to the CUK fleet, and validating air freight requests using the Air Freight Matrix. Ensure effective communication across teams, keeping ships, operational departments, and port agents informed about deliveries and logistical movements.  Actively assist and educate the other members of the supply planning teams in best logistical practices Your role also involves reviewing and improving logistics processes, managing customs brokerage to limit Carnival UK’s liability, and liaising with vessel and operational managers to meet service level agreements.

This role is classified as CUK 11 and is available on a full-time, permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
