Job Description SummaryThe Logistics Specialist I works in the Logistics Department and performs various responsibilities related to the supply chain operations.  Functional areas will include distribution and receiving. This position also performs various duties related to distribution, receiving, inventory, and general warehouse management in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company policies and safety regulations.

General duties in the Logistics area include:

Process outbound shipment paperwork

Pack and weigh outbound shipments

Conduct transactions in the ERP system and FedEx Ship Manager system.

Maintain and dispense products and raw materials from the release area

Handle inbound receipts

Clean up area

Follow established SOPs and Policies.

Follow IEMA, DOT, IATA, and OHSA Regulations.

Clean and perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment; stock and replenish supplies as required.

Understand and follow the established corporate safety standard, local facility operating procedures and safety policies.

Flexibility to operate under indirect and direct supervision.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A High School diploma or GED is required. 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

An aptitude for math is strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to accurately understand and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic mathematical abilities of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are required. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.  Ability to solve practical job-related problems, or recognize the need to ask supervision for assistance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk, use hands to manipulate objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.  The employee must be able to lift 50lbs from the floor to waist level.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Shift work is required. Moderate noise levels exist.
