To complement our logistics team, we are looking for a Freight Forwarder / Logistics Specialist to join our team in Moerdijk (NL).

 

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder / Logistics Specialist to play a pivotal role in optimizing transportation solutions for our customers worldwide. The Freight Forwarder / Logistics Specialist will organize and coordinate all transport (rail, ship and truck) and logistical requests for the delivery of all types of equipment to Ritchie Bros.’ customers and to our auction facilities in these key responsibility areas. This position requires a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with a strong background in European road and global sea freight logistics. Day-to day tasks include:

Customer Consultation: Engage with customers to understand their transportation needs and recommend the most efficient and tailored logistics solutions. Transport Coordination: Plan, organize, and oversee transportation schedules, ensuring milestones are communicated and shipments progress as planned. Carrier Management: Provide instructions to carrier agents, monitor their performance, and supervise logistical activities to meet customer expectations. System Updates: Maintain and update freight management systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all transport-related data. Communication and Reporting: Collaborate with internal departments and logistics providers, ensuring clear and effective communication of all transport arrangements. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve logistical challenges, adapting to changes and taking corrective actions to maintain service quality. Strategic Planning: Utilize data and business intelligence to create long-term logistics plans and improve customer engagement. Relationship Building: Strengthen relationships with customers and stakeholders through excellent service and effective communication.

 

Here is what you bring

To excel as a Freight Forwarder / Logistics Specialist, you have demonstrated expertise in European road and global sea freight as well as prior experience dealing with shippers and carriers on an international scale (min. 5 years). Experience in shipping industrial equipment is a strong asset. Additionally you bring:

Negotiation Skills: The ability to find common ground, build trust, and convince stakeholders to align with optimal solutions. Multilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English and German (written & verbal) is required. Additional languages such as Spanish, French, Arabic, or Southeast Asian languages are a significant asset. Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to convey complex logistics solutions effectively. Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to record-keeping, planning, and implementation. Resilience Under Pressure: The ability to maintain high performance standards during peak delivery volumes. Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Office and the ability to use logistics systems effectively. Adaptability: A flexible mindset to navigate frequent changes in a dynamic environment. Professionalism: A customer-focused attitude and commitment to upholding the highest standards of service.
