Logistics Supervisor, Night Shift

We have an opening for a Logistics Supervisor, Night Shift based in City of Industry, CA!

The Logistics Supervisor must be highly competent in displaying leadership abilities that help empower others to performance levels that contribute to the achievement of corporate, plant and personal goals. Must be a strong team player with an absolute commitment to safety and quality. Requires enthusiasm that energizes and motivates Associates while directing the warehouse and logistics activities of the plant, including warehousing, transportation and offsite storage locations. 

This is an Off Shift role.  The coverage will be Thursday thru Sunday.  The time is 6pm to 4am subject to flexibility if necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervises all warehouse associates and work closely with associates in Production, Maintenance, QA and Human ResourcesTrains, coaches, mentors, and provides feedback/recognition to associatesMaintains a safe and clean working environment for all associates and visitors. Ensures all safety rules are followedCommunicates Standard Operating Procedures and plant rules to all team members and ensures that they are implemented and strictly adhere toMonitors all loads for accuracy and correct shipping placement on outside carriersResponsible for pallet inventory in and out of the plantResponsible for maintaining the loading and releasing of all finished goods to our customers on time and in an orderly fashionWork with Q.A. Department to insure that only product that has cleared “HOLD” will be shipped to our customersAssist Operations Team in verifying accurate production counts and code dates on all manufacturing itemsConducts regularly scheduled team meetingsAnalysis of warehouse practices to develop new procedures to reduce expense, improve inventory accuracy, efficiency and serviceMonitor orders/inventory to prevent product shortages and develop processes to eliminate potential shortagesDocuments notable items, both positive and negative, and places in personnel fileMaintains lines of communication between associates and managementSupports and deploys all plant initiatives such as: MOS (management operating system), TPM (total productive maintenance), Maintenance Excellence, SQF (safe quality foods), etc

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferredFive to ten years related experience is requiredFood manufacturing experience is preferredDistribution experience is requiredSAP experience is required in transportation and warehouse management modules.Working knowledge of Demand Planning, Supply Chain, transportation & Inventory Processes.Prior experience working with warehouse management systems specialized in RF controlled inventories.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Office machinery including: Computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc. Software including:  Microsoft Office (excel, word, visio,), Lotus Notes, SAP, MP2 required Facility machinery including: Dairy processing & packaging equipment, forklifts required

 

The base compensation range for this position is $79,000K - $90,000K commensurate with experience.
