Spherion Mid Ohio, in partnership with The JM Smucker Company, is seeking a Logistics Support Specialist to manage transportation plans and monitor performance metrics. This is a contract position that could offer potential permanent hire for the right candidate. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a Fortune 500 organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure carrier coverage of all shipments from assigned sites Communicate with shippers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to execute transportation plans Manage and coordinate transportation action plans and performance metrics Identify potential exceptions to on time shipments Create action plan to resolve complex exceptions When shipping is disrupted, pro-actively communicate resolution plans to impacted parties Utilize transportation management to provide optimal load solutions base on total cost-to-serve 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required Ability to learn and navigate within several computer systems/platforms Strong collaborator and communicator; ability and desire to be a team contributor Comfortable with professional face to face, phone, and email communication to both internal and external parties Problem solving skills Attention to detail and follow up A minimum of 1 year of relevant business/office related experience Strong Microsoft Office skills with particular emphasis on Excel (knowledge of using filters, sorting functions, V-look Ups)

 

Education:
Bachelor's degree required 

Compensation: $20/hour (approximately $41,600 annually) 

Schedule/Location: 
This position offers full time hours, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, office hours. This position offers a hybrid work schedule. You will have the opportunity to work a combination of days remotely and in the office at the Smucker Orrville campus (most likely 75% remote, 25% in the office).
