Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a long term care facility (LTC) focused BC/BE Geriatrician to join one of the largest and most well-established geriatric programs in the region. Certification and experience as an LTC facility Medical Director is preferred, but candidates who are motivated to become a Certified Medical Director would also be considered. The physician would be part of a team which includes other geriatricians and nurse practitioners. The scope of practice would involve the full spectrum of care in the long-term-care setting including short-term rehab, personal care, long-term skilled care, and end-of-life care. The role includes weekday facility rounds and periodic evening and weekend home call. Within the practice there are also opportunities for teaching family medicine residents and geriatric fellows, and participating in quality improvement, leadership, and committee work.
This employed practice is comprised of 3 office locations, a home-care program, a hospital consult service, and care and comprehensive medical direction at 6 nursing facilities throughout the community. Our physicians and other health-care professionals (18 geriatricians, 1 internist, 20 nurse practitioners, a social worker, and a geriatric pharmacist) are specially trained to help maintain the health of older patients, with a focus on early diagnosis and effective treatment of aging-related conditions in vulnerable older adults, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Qualifications:
+ Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic)
+ Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
+ Board Eligible or Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine
+ Possess or able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License
+ Completed Certification Requirements for Certified Medical Director (CMD) - preferred
