CiTi BOCES is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long Term Substitute ELA Teacher to join our Bridges to Success program, an Alternative Program for students in Oswego County in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English Language Arts and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position involves delivering engaging and differentiated instruction to students, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success. Job Responsibilities: + Plan and deliver ELA lessons that align with state standards and the curriculum. + Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success. + Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students in the Alternative Program. + Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support. + Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance. Job Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). + Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts (grades 9-12). + Experience working with high school students, preferably in an alternative education setting. + Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
