The Manager of Networking Planning Technology team will engage work on the rural and super rural expansion strategy, developing tools, analyses, and iterative strategic planning models to help enable the rural distribution, real estate, and coverage plan for Amazon in far-reaching regions. Key deliverables will be engineered databases for long term planning information, developing dashboard and visualization tools to present long range planning scenarios to leaders, automating financial forecasts for ROI / IRR assessments on different investment scenarios, and expediting topology and network strategy questions through innovative modelling techniques.
The ideal candidate has experience in network modelling, leading teams in data engineering, analytics, and producing strategic documents to high visibility programs with upper-level leadership.
Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include architecting data systems to cleanly present and automate strategic reports, the development of flash reports, writing and contributing to high value CapEx and launch strategy documents, coverage and network heatmaps, and financial analytics. The manager will develop tools and processes to automate critical analyses in long range supply chain plans, produce iterative financial models, and write-ups to leadership on how to interpret the recommendations. This will include, where we ideally want to launch, how many buildings are needed to solve our long term goals, and when is the ideal timing for engaging in new regions.
This leader will talk with existing technical leaders in the space, develop data management procedures handle large scale requests, and work cross functionally with several operative teams to align on key inputs.
They will also have great people management skills and exemplify strong leadership in ambiguious spaces.
A day in the life
A day in the life of the Network Planning Technology manager will be handling requests on what regions provide ideal paybacks, analyzing how existing regions should be changed to compliment our future plans, and assessing new strategies for entering regions not yet covered by Amazon delivery.
They will liaise with key stakeholders, contribute to model changes in line with our long range plan, and establish tenets / standard work for improving our suite of tools and reports for leadership planning cycles.
