The Carrapateena Team is accountable for delivering value at the Asset in the short, medium and long term, against the needs of all stakeholders. With an immediate and core focus on delivering production outcomes, we have a secondary focus on leading the expansion of the mine by transitioning from a Sub Level Cave to a Block Cave – this will extend the Carrapateena mine life beyond 2039. As Carrapateena enters a new phase of production ramp-up and operational readiness for the block cave, you will support the detailed design and planning of ventilation and mine services systems within the 2year + timeframe.
As a member of the Planning Team, you will be uniquely placed to experience many different facets of a growing SLC/BC mine. With it comes the responsibility and opportunity to have a significant impact on the performance, safety and culture of our operations.

In This Role You Will: Support on site data collection activities to support long term planning with specific focus on radon data collection and others as required. Undertake and demand estimates for airflow, cooling, power, service water, dewatering, and compressed air for the underground mine. Develop staged ventilation and services (power, water) level plans covering SLC3 and block cave development, cave construction, cave ramp up and infrastructure construction phases. Update LoM Ventsim ventilation and pumps models. Perform ventilation, and pumping network modelling to support scenario planning. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive value-add projects. Provide ventilation and mine services plans to the medium-term planning team and provide inputs into quarterly schedules. Complete management of change documentation. Support management of consultants and engineering services providers. Assist with medium term planning teams as required. About You: A commitment to developing safety leadership. Experience in ventilation and/or mine services in an underground metalliferous mine. Sub-level or block caving experience high regarded. Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar. Ability to interact successfully with multiple internal stakeholders. Ability to work to multiple deadlines. Ventsim and Pumpsim experience are highly regarded. Deswik.CAD experience an advantage.
