Loss Mitigation QC Specialist (Remote)

Job Description
A top 10 employer in the mortgage industry is looking for a Loss Mitigation QC Specialist to join their team. This remote position requires working PST hours and involves managing a significant volume of tasks while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining call quality, auditing decisions made by Loss Mitigation Specialists, and conducting financial evaluations to support homeowners effectively.
Some responsibilities of the Loss Mitigation QC Specialist will include but are not limited to:
- Managing a queue of 25 to 80 tasks daily, including formal payment plans, call reviews, modifications, partial claims, and more through Smartsheet.
- Conducting SPOC Call Quality monitoring activities by evaluating calls between Loss Mitigation Specialists and customers and completing Call Quality scorecards.
- Performing secondary reviews of Loss Mitigation Specialists' decisions, including approvals, denials, and cancellations, to ensure accuracy and alignment with CFPB and company guidelines.
- Auditing financial evaluations and calculations performed by other Loss Mitigation Specialists to ensure compliance with investor and insurer guidelines, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing income and expense calculations to ensure proper classification of recoverable and non-recoverable fees while assessing homeowners financial situations to determine eligibility for assistance.
SCHEDULE:
- Monday - Friday
- 7 am - 4 pm PST (may start at 6:30 am PST after training).
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
- The team has a target of grading 90 calls per month, with an accuracy percentage requirement of above 98%. Each specialist is expected to complete a minimum of 15 QC tasks per day, with an average team output of 18 to 25 tasks.

Skills and Requirements
- 2+ years mortgage servicing and loss mitigation home retention/liquidation experience with a high volume of tasks/tickets.
- Extensive understanding of CFPB regulatory requirements and other governing bodies (FCRA, FDCPA, etc).
- Experience with a variety of investor guidelines - FHA, GSE, VA, etc.
- Basic proficiency in Excel/Smartsheet and strong math skills. - Familiarity with document retention software, such as Blitzdoc.
- Knowledge and experience in short sale QC.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Smartsheet.
- Local candidates from San Diego are a plus. null
