The Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for maintaining a professional visual deterrence to prevent internal and external theft, while creating a safe and pleasant shopping experience for our customers and positive work environment for Ollie’s associates. This position is full-time and requires nights and weekends on a regular basis.
Focus Of Position
Provide a positive and assertive visual presentation of an Ollie’s Loss Prevention Associate while acting as a theft deterrent to all customers and associates. Support overall security and safety protocols at their assigned store location while following company-wide guidance related to customer service and theft deterrence. Develop good rapport with employees to foster a positive environment and culture of honesty and integrity in the store.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support store in maintaining company standards as they relate to security and safety procedures and policies. Wear company assigned uniform vest while on duty. Maintain a highly visible position at the store entrance during assigned shift. Greet and acknowledge all customers and associates as they enter and exit the store. Observe and report all theft or suspected theft incident to manager on duty and District LP Manager. Assist in the completion of “store theft” reports. Support loss prevention department investigations into internal and external theft. Maintain open lines of communication with all store associates to validate awareness of safety and security guidelines, inventory shrinkage results, and general loss prevention initiatives. Assist in training new staff in these areas. Participate in the store's Loss Prevention and Safety Programs. Conduct bag checks as per the company’s guidelines.Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basisPhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel on a frequent basis. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds Ability to work with a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
This pay represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Actual associate pay will be based on work location, position, experience, skill level, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Associate will not be compensated below the minimum wage for the specific location where the individual has applied in accordance with city, county, and state requirements.
New Hire Starting Pay: $16.50
