Lot Checker & Customer Care Center Representative - Part-time
**Overview** The Lot Checker and Customer Care Center Representative is responsible for managing paid/unpaid vehicles at all locations and assist in the Customer Care Center. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 an hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Patrolling parking lots in an assigned area to ensure compliance with parking regulations. 2. Comfortable with the use of a smartphone. Training to be provided on the use of all hand held devices. 3. Great customer service skills. 4. Resolve issues that our customers face in our parking ramps. This is our first and foremost responsibility. This involves answering intercom calls and phone calls, operating the automatic gate system from the SWEB command center, and potentially responding to customer emails. 5. Assist with the operational day to day functions of the CCC, printing validations, preparing/printing daily reports, and signing in/out pay station keys. 6. Other duties as assigned. **Duties and Expectations** 1. Working Hours and Reporting for Duty 1. Possess scheduling flexibility in assigned shifts and times according to the business demands for each location. Wear an approved uniform and comply with dress code, wearing items that are clean and in good repair. Visibly wear your name badge at all times. 3. Start your shift on time, well rested and ready to work. 4. Expect that shift and break times are flexible and may be interrupted by business or guest needs. 1. Must be able to read, speak and write English well in order to understand and follow directions, communicate clearly with guests and coworkers and complete reports. 1. Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License. 1. Must have basic computer skills. **Service Excellence** 1. Apply service excellence techniques in your conduct with both guests and coworkers, utilizing an outgoing, energetic and positive attitude. Be an effective ambassador of ABM, Mpls Parking and the City of Minneapolis. 1. Appropriately handle difficult guests with empathy, patience and concern; take responsibility for the resolution, and quickly resolve any issues or get appropriate assistance to do so. Always look for opportunities to "wow" our guests! 1. Work smoothly and effectively within the team; supervisors, peers and subordinates. **Problem Solving** 1. Ability to problem-solve; react to changing conditions and situations, identify problems and offer solutions. **Operations, Inspection & Reporting** 1. Responsible for the smooth, efficient operation of the assigned facility, including all day to day functions. 1. Know all standard operating procedures and how to implement them, but always strive to seek better ways to accomplish essential tasks. Provide suggestions for improving procedures to your supervisor. 1. Know the relevant Emergency Preparedness & Evacuation Plan procedures for each facility in which you work. 1. Respond quickly to all emergencies within the ramp by contacting 911 for life-threatening situations, the Security Control Center for other assistance and/or the supervisor. 1. Have functional knowledge of all parking equipment on site: 1. Effectively use the systems as intended 2. Evaluate proper general functionality of all devices and systems installed at location 3. Evaluate and effectively troubleshoot malfunctions and take necessary action to correct in timely manner 4. Perform basic repairs or maintenance of the equipment 5. Know which vendors or upper management to contact if repairs are required or in the event of an emergency 1. Possess a basic, but limited, knowledge of the operation of other mechanical and computer systems that are installed on site. 1. Understand the function, use, and some programming of computer systems installed that operate equipment or are necessary for daily functions of the business These may include but are not limited to the following examples: 1. Dynacount, Environmental Control Systems 2. DynaPark and SkiData 3. GPACS, Gatekeeper, or Great Plains 4. Network or non-network computer workstations, and installed Microsoft Office software 1. Monitor for and report the following exceptional conditions when they arise: 1. Equipment failures 2. Observed or suspected violations of company policy 3. Unsafe work practice or unsafe situation 4. Crime, vandalism or damage 5. Observed operational difficulties or situations, and be able to provide suggestions for solutions 1. Take immediate corrective action to satisfactorily address any unacceptable conditions related to safety hazards, housekeeping, etc. 1. Complete all appropriate reports in clear, understandable writing and submit in timely fashion to appropriate supervisor. 1. Competently use cellular phones for communicating with the OCC, Security Control or supervisors regarding service needs or security checks. **Other duties as assigned:** you should be prepared to help with any reasonable task directed of you by your supervisor. Examples include but are not limited to: 1. Light janitorial duties in the absence of contracted staff 2. Snow removal and ice maintenance, or management of suppliers and vendors 3. Special projects requested by client 4. Work additional shift or perform any task held by subordinates 5. Assist with monitoring security of facility 6. Light mechanical or repair of equipment or fixed assets. A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
