In the role of Area Transportation Business Group Manager, we'll count on you to:

The Louisiana Transportation Business Group Manager will provide project delivery and operational leadership supporting our Louisiana Transportation program. This practice consists of Highways/Bridges, Freight Rail, Transit, Aviation, and Maritime market sectors and spans planning, environmental, design, program management, and construction management services. Primary responsibilities will be focused on Louisiana initiatives and directives, project delivery, client satisfaction, oversee business development activities for major planning, design, and construction programs, support internal and external teams to capture key projects, help make key hires, expand our client base to include other public jurisdictions / agencies, as well as diversify our service lines throughout Louisiana. The Transportation Business Group Manager will work with local operations managers and regional directors in the areas of strategic planning, development of annual and long-term goals, budgeting, program leadership, client development, community and industry participation, project pursuits, staffing and marketing training. Broad duties include:

Working with Regional Business Group Director, area Business Group Managers, Business Class managers, and project managers to oversee the execution and delivery of our workEnhance our project delivery by leading management and project reviews of key and “Critical” designated projects. The position will also include quality oversightDevelop and lead business group initiatives in Louisiana; share effective implementation of business group initiatives and strategiesDevelop, implement, and maintain an effective area business group program, including business development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, production methods and standards, all within established goals and objectives of the company and business group.Be an active participant in key industry organizations (ex. ACEC-LA, ASCE Louisiana Chapter, etc.)Manage transportation marketing efforts, communications and business development with business, operations, marketing and project staff to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitability Manages the development of transportation marketing operating plans and budgets and implement tracking and reporting of Area marketing performance indicators, needed actions, and process improvementsWorks with/directs area office marketing staff on transportation business group pursuits. Works with the Area Operations Manager and Area Transportation Business Group Director to build capabilities through recruitment and staff training. Collaborate with operations managers on key hires and investmentsCoordinate marketing activities with other Business Group leadsParticipate in development of strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager for selected clientsImplement company marketing policies and procedures, standards, quality assurance and risk management within the AreaMonitor new market trends and participate in development and implementation of local and regional strategic and tactical planningFacilitate major pursuit proposal reviews, marketing program evaluations, client feedback, peer reviews, problem resolution, acquisition integration, recognition activities and client functions within the AreaParticipate in Area project pursuits, proposal reviews, program evaluations, track client feedback and peer review actions, problem resolution, acquisition integration, recognition activities and client functionsEncourage and participate in business and community activities as representative of HDRPerform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineeringMaster's degree in civil engineering, Business, or related field of studyMinimum of 15 years transportation industry in project management, infrastructure delivery and marketing experienceProven relationships with major transportation agencies within Louisiana Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related fieldA minimum of 10 years experienceMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experienceDemonstrated experience with leading diverse teamsCommitted to quality, improvement and HDR valuesActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managersAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
