Lounge Supervisor

Position Summary

Supervising the day to day operation of lounge beverage service on assigned shift; ensuring that all food and beverage products served meet the established standards.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Beverage Manager.

Supervises the following:

Lead Bartender Bartenders Cocktail Waitresses Bar Backs

Major Duties And Responsibilities

Supervises all aspects of the beverages served to guest in all lounges, bars, restaurants and banquet facilities.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Prepares schedules for all bartenders and cocktail servers. Completing the required daily financial tools and reports. Executing and auditing food and beverage inventory and cost control systems and procedures. Soliciting guests’ feedback by direct interaction and comment cards; maintaining a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for employees and guests. Ensuring that all service equipment is handled safely and with reasonable care, reporting mechanical problems to the proper department for repair. Coaching, reinforcing, and leading employees by creating a positive and supportive environment; enforcing all regulatory, internal controls, policies and procedures; abiding and enforcing all appearance and uniform guidelines. Appraises performance and makes corrective action plans of assigned staff .  Approves requisitions and oversees transfers of all product to other designated locations. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Basic P&L knowledge, understanding of purchasing, beverage, food handling knowledge.  Knowledge of local and state liquor laws. Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards.   Able to assist in interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of associate. Knowledge of lounge operations.  Ability to supervise associates. Ability to handle guest conflict situations Detail oriented with strong customer service focus. 

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent. Three (3) years supervisory experience in a bar/lounge with a full liquor license Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferred

Two (2) years of college.

Licensing Status

Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 30 days of hire date.

Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outside work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors an d elevated noise levels. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching. Specific required movements include the following: Trunk- bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry. Arms – reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate. Legs – lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate. Hands – Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
