Low Voltage CCTV Technician Job Description
A Low Voltage CCTV Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) systems. These systems are crucial for surveillance and security purposes across various settings such as our retail stores, warehouses, and office buildings. The technician ensures that the CCTV systems function properly and meet the required standards for security and quality.
Position Details:
This is a traveling position requiring travel approximately 50 weeks out of the year.
The technician must report to the Store Support Center in Orlando every Monday before leaving for the week's assignments.
General Responsibilities:
Install full camera systems, including running Cat 6 cables from the security cabinet to all designated camera locations on the sales floor and other specified areas.Install camera poles, camera boxes, and cap Cat 6 cables.Set up and configure POE switches, DVRs, PVM monitors, front door monitors, customer monitors, and customer service decoders, ensuring customer service monitors display multiple camera feeds.Install Cat 6 cables, poles, and boxes for IT department access points.Collaborate with the Risk department on camera layouts for new and remodeled stores.Perform service work, including:Troubleshoot and replace DVRs and hard drives.Troubleshoot POE switches and port configurations.Troubleshoot and terminate Cat 6 cables and camera connections.Interpret and work from plans and blueprints.Qualities and Skills:
Preferred experience in CCTV and low voltage alarm systems.Clean driving record and ability to pass a company-issued background check.Ability to pass company-issued drug testing.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Self-motivated with the ability to take on responsibilities and demonstrate initiative.Proactive approach to daily tasks.Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb to high spaces and crawl into low spaces.Good eye dexterity for both long and short-range vision.Ability to lift and move equipment and tools weighing up to 35 pounds.Physically capable of driving long distances.Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for wiring and other detailed work.This role is essential for maintaining the security infrastructure across multiple locations, requiring technical expertise, physical stamina, and a commitment to quality and safety.
