The Roof Observer is responsible for maintaining a presence at the construction site to ensure and confirm that the roofing contractor is compliant with contract documents, approved submittals, schedule, and safety procedures. The Roof Observer will complete daily quality and safety reports, among other submittals throughout the week.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain a presence at the construction site and interact with roofing contractors and client representatives on a day-to-day basis.Coordinate site requirements per job specifications with the Interstate Project Manager.Take photographs of job-site progress and complete daily documentation and reporting.Ensure the roofing contractor is compliant with the contract documents.Complete and submit daily quality and safety reports.Inform the Interstate Project Manager of quality issues and safety violations by the contractor.Ensure incomplete work is finished prior to the final inspection.Essential SkillsExperience with Excel, Microsoft, and project coordination.Experience in roofing inspection and quality control.Minimum of 2 years of experience with roofing, either residential or commercial (including demo, inspection, or shingling).At least 1 year of experience using an iPad (either from previous experience or personal use).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with insurance companies.Work Environment
The role is primarily office-based but may require visits to the field to meet with clients.
