**Job Title: Low Voltage Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Audio/Visual Technician to join our AV Commercial Department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installation and troubleshooting, and will be responsible for the programming and commissioning of AV, IT, and control systems. Additional responsibilities include training, documentation, and service of AV/IT systems installations, as well as assisting the Project Manager to ensure project completion to customer satisfaction and obtaining project sign-offs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Programming of Crestron and other automation control systems.
+ Assemble, test, and commission equipment racks and systems built in-house.
+ Onsite configuration, commissioning, and training of AV/IT systems.
+ Software configuration of AV DSP systems.
+ Configuration and software support for Digital Signage Systems and Equipment.
+ Perform service and support on commercial AV systems.
+ Other tasks as assigned from time to time.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in installation and troubleshooting of AV systems.
+ Proficiency in programming Crestron and other automation control systems.
+ Ability to assemble, test, and commission equipment racks and systems.
+ Experience with onsite configuration, commissioning, and training of AV/IT systems.
+ Knowledge of software configuration for AV DSP systems.
+ Experience in configuration and software support for Digital Signage Systems and Equipment.
+ Ability to perform service and support on commercial AV systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Physically install Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
+ Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping, and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry standards.
+ Terminate, assemble, and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors.
+ Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.
+ Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems.
+ Removal and demolition of abandoned cables.
+ Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and Low Voltage Code.
+ Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures, and balance video equipment.
+ Install entrance facility grounding infrastructure and perform grounding tests.
+ Perform cable splices.
+ Perform and supervise work in retrofit and new construction environments and implement cut-overs.
+ Attend training and safety meetings. Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment. Demonstrate safe working practices to other technicians.
+ Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, documenting test results and as-builds, completing safety reports, summary reports, etc.
+ Ability to properly instruct other technicians on techniques, work, etc. as needed to keep project work flowing.

**Work Environment**
The role involves working on commercial/construction job-sites with a team size of 1-4 technicians per job. The dress code includes jeans/work pants and clean, work-appropriate T-shirts/long sleeves. Personal Protection Equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests, are provided. Normal working hours may extend to 5:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays and opportunities for overtime. Projects are primarily in the Madison and Milwaukee areas, with occasional regional travel. Reliable transportation is required, though ride-share options are available from headquarters in Madison and a satellite location in Brookfield.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
