A low voltage technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage electrical systems like security alarms, fire alarms, CCTV cameras, network cabling, audio/visual equipment, and access control systems, which typically operate under 50 volts; their duties include running cables, testing system functionality, troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with codes, and providing customer support on system usage. 

Key responsibilities:

Installation:Installing low voltage systems according to blueprints and specifications, including wiring, mounting equipment, and connecting components. Maintenance:Performing routine inspections and maintenance on installed systems to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshooting:Diagnosing and resolving issues with low voltage systems by identifying faulty components and performing repairs. Testing and Configuration:Testing systems to ensure they meet performance standards and configuring system settings as needed. Customer Service:Explaining system operation to clients and providing training on system usage. Compliance:Adhering to local electrical codes and safety regulations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
