Position Overview: As an Access Control Technician at TEKsystems, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining access control systems, including CCTV, badge readers, card scanners, mag locks, door strikes, IP-based cameras, and CAT6 cabling. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and safety of our clients' facilities. Key Responsibilities: • Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including CCTV cameras, badge readers, card scanners, mag locks, and door strikes. • Install, terminate, and test CAT6 cabling for data and power distribution. • Configure and troubleshoot IP-based cameras and related networking equipment. • Collaborate with clients and project teams to design access control solutions tailored to their needs. • Conduct on-site assessments and provide recommendations for security system upgrades. • Ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards and local regulations. • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and system failures promptly and efficiently. • Provide training and support to end-users on how to operate and manage access control systems. • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and configurations. • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours emergency support as needed. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. • Proven experience in installing and maintaining access control systems, CCTV, and IP-based cameras. • Familiarity with various access control hardware and software, including badge readers, card scanners, mag locks, and door strikes. • Proficiency in installing and terminating CAT6 cabling. • Strong networking and IT skills related to IP-based security systems. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Knowledge of local security regulations and best practices is a plus.
