Position Summary

● The LPN works in tandem with the Registered Nurse (RN). The LPN can assist with ongoing assessments, perform interventions, prepare for procedures, monitor, observe, and report changes or findings to the RN. Under the supervision of the RN, the LPN provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence-based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and patient experience within the framework of Shared Governance. He/she functions as a PCA as needed.

 

Primary Position Responsibilities

● Facilitate patient care with the care team, including activities of daily living

● Maintain Patient Safety and a clean, safe environment

● Other duties as assigned and within nursing scope of practice

● Promotes and supports an organized work environment

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

● Graduate – LPN program


Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

● None

Preferred:

● One year acute care experience


License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

● Current New Jersey LPN licensure required.

● Current American Heart Association CPR certification

● CPI training will be provided


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

Required:

● Normal knowledge of basic patient care equipment, wheelchairs, and stretchers.

● Good interpersonal and communication skills.

● Must pass annual clinical competency based program and mandated in-service education
