Position Summary:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse with AultmanNow Urgent Care you will be responsible for providing clinical support of patient care, provide patient and family teaching and work cooperatively under the direction of the Urgent Care Providers in maintaining standards of care within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Active License for Practical Nursing in the State of Ohio Current CPR certification Experience preferred

Responsibilities & Expectations:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse for AultmanNow Urgent Cares duties will include, but are not limited to:
Perform clerical duties and register patients. Use general knowledge of office equipment. Assist patients/ family members with necessary demographic paperwork, insurance information as well as understanding the HIPAA policy. Maintain office supplies. Obtain necessary patient information to maintain the medical record(s) of patients. Answer telephone calls, screen calls and relay messages to appropriate colleagues through verbal and/ or written communication. Utilization of proper telephone etiquette is required at all times. Complete patient registration and verification of insurance with practice management software. Complete insurance information accurately. Correct registration errors identified by software. Collect co-payments at registration for qualifying patients with practice management software. Create notification in software when co-payment is not collected. Provide prompt customer service: Greet visitors professionally and tactfully deal with public during with all interactions. Promote a smooth flow of patient through the office by creating a calm and supportive environment. Assist in notifying patients of test results Adhere to infection control policy and procedures. Adhere to a culture of safety for patients, visitors and colleagues. Collect data to include vital signs, update medication lists to ensure accuracy and obtain all pertinent information necessary for the provider to assess the patient. Assist providers with patient exams and procedures as needed. Administer oral, IM, SQ medications as directed by provider. Apply dressings and perform other treatments under the direction of provider. Perform in-house testing when applicable: influenza, strep, urinalysis, urine hCG, glucose testing, EKGs, etc. Collect and label specimens correctly according to policy. Prioritize daily tasks. Exhibit flexibility with willingness to work any schedule as indicated. Perform quality controls daily, if applicable. Provide appropriate documentation in patient’s chart. Reinforce/ facilitate education. Notify appropriate personnel immediately of abnormal test results. Complete annual required competency and educations. Perform any other duties as assigned under the direction of the provider Seek supervisory guidance/ approval as needed. Portray professional image by adhering to dress code. Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner, including appropriate verbal and written grammar. Promote and demonstrate professional standards to enhance the development of the department including, but not limited to: Perform all job functions in an independent manner (as needed or directed). Recognizes and performs job functions with little or no supervision. Demonstrates strong organizational skills. Responds positively to change in workflow as needed. Assists coworkers as needed. Maintains flexibility to meet department needs, including adjusting work hours. Consistently completes assigned work in required timeframe; completes other duties as required. Collaborates and cooperates with coworkers, supervisors, etc. creating a productive working relationship throughout the organization. Actively seeks and pursues opportunities to contribute and demonstrate desire to learn. Practice ethical conduct, including but not limited to: Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all functions and relationships. Maintain standards of confidentiality, including HIPAA privacy guidelines. Always comply with policies and procedures. Meet acceptable attendance and punctuality expectations (excluding FMLA).

Working Conditions:
Work twelve hours a day. Occasional weekends. Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation as needed. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage. Cross training in all areas in the department is required. On call coverage is assigned to cover the department schedule. Staff may be assigned to different locations within AMG/ ANCMG.

All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for spills or splashes of, or mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
