LPN Bed Coordinator

Manage intake calls from physicians, physician office and coordinate transfer with ambulance companies. Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with physicians and patient care professionals within the units, identify a diagnosis and determine level of care in order to assign patient to proper patient care area.

 Education & Experience: 

High school diploma required. Five (5) years current experience in a clinical setting, hospital preferred.

Certification/ Licensure:

NJ LPN license required. BLS required.

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of hospital operations is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Position Responsibilities

Reports and data collection

•Prepares data for daily bed meetings. •Prepares data and reports for throughput meetings. •Prepares report for Quality Patient Safety meetings-ED holds greater than 4 hours.

Uses all forms of communication effectively to facilitate decision-making and promote positive relations.

•Acts as a resource person with anticipated bed availability thereby maximizing utilization of hospital services. •Accepts reservation from physician/designee for direct admits. •Coordinates the transfers and direct admissions that are awaiting beds. Physical Requirements:
