**Overview** Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility. **What is Float Pool?** A nursing pool developed by CHI Health for flexible nurses, providing high quality care to patients across multiple nursing departments. Your base rate of pay, merit increases, shift differentials and holiday pay are given in an identical manner as for all core staff. Because this pool is designed to value flexibility, you will earn premium differential pay in addition to normal differential pay. **Responsibilities** **Be rewarded for your flexibility earning premium differentials: 20% of your base rate, you’ll still earn normal shifts differential when working nights & weekends.** The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), within their scope of practice and under direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner is responsible for contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to a designated group of healthcare consumers across the continuum. Provides services which encompass the spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care of the sick, prevention of disease, or conservation of health. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health. + Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner follows the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage. + Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors. Contributes to the RN initial assessment and may perform re-assessment. + Plan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the Registered Nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and as part of the multidisciplinary team. Participates in the development and modification of the plan of care. + Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice. This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation. Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed. + Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals. Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team. + Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record. **Qualifications** + Active LPN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact. + If hired in a Nebraska facility, approved LPN-IV therapy course required if LPN program completed outside of NE or in Nebraska completed prior to 2016 or validation of prior LPN-C required upon hire. + Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association required **Pay Range** $20.62 - $28.35 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
