Job Description

As a LPN in the Cardiology department, you will assist the provider throughout the clinic with a variety of duties. Your primary focus will be serving patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-ups. Additionally, you will occasionally handle scheduling and prepare and maintain patient charts. This includes managing insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports, and tracking and requesting patient records, slides, and films. You will also be responsible for scheduling and coordinating appointments, scans, and tests, as well as confirming appointments and notifying appropriate departments of patient schedules.

ResponsibilitiesServe patients over the phone with prescription verification and appointment follow-upOccasionally handle schedulingPrepare and maintain patient charts, including insurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reportsTrack and request patient records, slides, and films, and document as necessary in the chartsSchedule and coordinate appointments, scans, and tests; confirm appointmentsNotify appropriate departments of daily and weekly patient schedulesReceive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians, and others with patient-related mattersRelay diagnostic test results to patients per physician's discretionConduct follow-up phone calls to patients with issues and 'no-shows'Perform blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight checks on each patientAlert physician of any abnormalitiesPerform medical history intake on each patient prior to being seen by the physicianMaintain medical supplies in each exam room and office supplies in the clerical areaEssential SkillsLPN licenseBLS CertifiedAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with triage nursingExperience as a phone nurseKnowledge of medical recordsExperience with telehealthWork Environment
