SummaryUnder the supervision of a Regional Nurse Manager, this position, within their scope of practice, may provide guidance and work direction while providing the necessary medical care of all associates in their respective Wellness Centers, follows all federal and state records for OSHA and workers’ compensation, monitors the cost associated with the operating budget of department and workers’ compensation.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Under direction of Regional Nurse Manager, provides work direction and guidance to the non-licensed Wellness Center staff, within the scope of their license, and ensures quality nursing practice, patient interaction and treatment and manages costs through strategic and tactical planning and growth. Must be available for on-call phone conversations and response after wellness center hours as needed. Administers and maintains occupational health program consistent with company policies and procedures to include federal and state recordkeeping related to OSHA, Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Health programs, etc. Achieves facility goals for management of worker’s comp costs, recordables, lost and restricted time through case management. In collaboration with the Regional Nurse Manager, provides the support to the wellness center or medical department that is consistent with company policies and standard operating procedures, to include injury/illness assessment, clinic appointments, ordering supplies, etc. Establishes and monitors systems to improve health of associates and dependents through direct provision of medical care, efficiently and appropriately delivered, i.e. HIP (Health Improvement Program), health and wellness programs and operations, including provider accountabilities, etc. Manages Wellness Center areas of practice to include scheduled appointments, standard operating procedures, patients per hour, generic samples, budget & finance, etc. Minimum EducationSuccessful completion of an approved practical nursing program or college program or AA degree in a related field.
Experience Requirements5 - 6 plus years related work experience. Current, unrestricted, LPN license in state of practice. Current certification in CPR in good standing. Experience with Occupational Health nursing and/or case management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. All heathcare staff must adhere to the company immunization policy; provide proof of training, certification and/or license.
Experience PreferredMedical office supervisory experience Occupational Health experience. Phlebotomy skills and Bilingual a pluss.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Must be able to see, touch, smell & record findings in writing or electronically. Have ability to respond as needed to medical emergencies in all areas of the complex. Majority of work in office or clinic setting, as well as inter-facility & external environmental conditions (e.g. noise levels, changes in temperature, humidity, etc. Must have ability to move throughout the processing plant & surrounding environments of the off-site facilities, such as feedmills, hatcheries, etc. Must wear PPE as required. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
