LPN Corrections
The Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse works in close andimmediate contact with adults and children in custody on a daily basisproviding general and emergency nursing care in the Medical and Ambulatorysection of the Corrections Facility while maintaining facility securitystandards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, treat andevaluate the patient/inmate + Integrates and implements referrals of inmates to the staffphysician, nurse practitioner, dentist, mental health professional + Looks for signs and symptoms indicating physiologic andpsychosocial changes in the patient’s condition and reports to RN and/orphysician + Collaborates with RN regarding the plan of care according toevaluation, changes in medical plan of care, and effective/ineffective nursinginterventions + Documents patient’s response to nursing and otherinterventions + Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment + Participates in infection control activities as directed byInfection Control Coordinator and/or nursing supervisor + Participates in the orientation and continuing education ofstaff as applicable + Participates in the Health Quality Improvement Program asapplicable + Adheres to all facility policy and procedure + Follow security guidelines and protocol on tools/sharpscounts and ingress/egress policies at all times + Performs other duties as assigned/necessary Minimum Requirements: + Possesses a current Practical Nursing License in theapplicable state + Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice + Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site + Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required + Computer proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
