Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a current state LPN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days after hire date. Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months after hire date. Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date. Completion of comprehensive Infusion Therapy course that includes both instructional components, skills competency, and accountability/responsibility as well as legal implications as it relates to performance of infusion therapy procedures in agreement with guidelines established by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

 

Department/Unit Summary 

25 bed unit with private rooms

All patients are on telemetry monitor and being monitored on the unit.

5:1 Patient Ratio

ADT Charge Nurse- assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Team nursing model consisting of 2 RN’s and 5 LPN's

Fast-paced environment and high patient turnover.

Patient population consist of patients with heart history and surgery patients post heart cath.
