Regular hourly pay is $43.07 per hour plus Heatlth and Wellness Allotment of $4.93 per hour

Assignment Length: 15 weeks Assignment Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm

The LPN, in collaboration with and under direction of center physician,duties will include, but will not be limited to: A. The development, implementation, and monitoring of the total center health and wellness program, to help students become and stay employed, including: 1. Advising the center director and health services staff on all medical and health related matters. This shall include the advisability of medical separations, including the furnishing of diagnosis, prognosis, and recommendations for future care; the utilization and cost of services; the personalization of patient care; and any other health areas deemed appropriate by the Health and Wellness Director (HWD), center physician and the center director. 2. Consulting with center staff on ordering, accounting for, and safeguarding health equipment, supplies, and medications. 3. Developing a system to promote the coordination and integration of the health components (Medical, oral health, mental health, environmental health, and health education) with other center activities. This will be done in cooperation with the HWD, center physician, center dentist, and center mental health consultant. 4. Ensuring the maintenance, confidentiality, and safeguarding of all health records. 5. Staying current on Job Corps policies and procedures via frequent communication with the center’s HWD, center physician and review of the Job Corps Health and Wellness website and participate in any national center NP or physician teleconferences. B. “Personal Authorization” including: 1. Take, evaluate, and record comprehensive health histories and perform cursory medical inspection for each student within the first 48 hours after arrival at the center. 2. Perform comprehensive physical examinations required to evaluate health status and acute and/or chronic medical problems within 14 days of students’ arrival at the center. This includes PAP tests for females 21 years old or older upon entry, as well as breast exams for all female students and testicular exams for male students during the exam upon entry. 6 RFQ NP 10-2023 3. Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate screening studies, tests, and diagnostic procedures used to assess and diagnose problems and establish management/treatment plans. 4. Diagnose, treat, and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses, minor traumas, and behavioral/psychological problems. 5. Initiate consultation requests and work in collaboration with specialists and other health professionals as appropriate. 6. Teach, counsel, and advise students about current health status, illness(es), and health promotion and disease prevention activities. 7. Prescribe non-pharmacological therapies and pharmacological agents to include schedule controlled substances within the scope of specialty of nurse practitioner/physician assistant. C. In order to provide quality medical coverage, the following LPN services will be provided: 1. On site: The LPN will be present on site at center for the contracted number of hours on agreed upon days which would be during the Monday through Friday work week (except on designated holidays, and as agreed upon). Schedule will be determined by Center Director or his/her representative in conjunction with the center LPN 2. On-call (extended) coverage: When not on-site, including after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and weekends, the LPN (or his/her substitute) will be available on an on-call basis for telephone consultation and disposition.
