Job Title: Registered Nurse or LPN- Livingston Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Livingston location. This role involves working closely with physicians to ensure efficient patient care and flow. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in primary care or hospital settings and be proficient in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Athena or Epic. Responsibilities + Check daily schedule for patient volume. + Prepare for patient procedures and organize medications for doctors to administer. + Update EMR and prescription refills. + Review patient cases and questions. + Perform manual blood pressure and triage phone calls. + Prepare buckets and patient files. + Employ appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR. + Maintain efficient patient flow. + Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians. + Assure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and/or documenting care. + Ensure proper preparation for patient visit, including preparing pertinent information needed. + Provide referrals and/or consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner in the PMS and EHR. + Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment according to policy. + Collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines and accurately label specimens. + Obtain and document vital signs accurately and completely as required. + Demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR. + Schedule appointments appropriately and accurately according to department guidelines. + Review and update medication lists in EHR, demonstrating understanding of prescription control and refill procedures. + Accurately and completely document known allergies in EHR. + Appropriately enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or hospital settings. + Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Athena or Epic. + Associates degree in Nursing required; BS in Nursing preferred. + Valid NJ State Nursing License. + Active BLS certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in outpatient care settings. + Experience with triage and high volume of medicare population. + Ability to build long-term relationships with patients. Work Environment This role involves 95% administrative and 5% clinical work. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with some flexibility. The position is initially a contract role with the potential to become permanent after 6 months. The work environment is fast-paced with high patient volume, and you will be part of a small office with a 1-1 doctor ratio for MAs and support roles. Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, lifting heavy objects, physical mobility and agility, dexterity of hands and fingers, balance, and endurance for prolonged standing, bending, walking, and continuous typing.
