Qualified candidates for this position offer:

Education:           Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program.Experience:        Required: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a skilled nursing care facility. 2 years of management experience. Preferred: Infection prevention/control certification or willingness to obtain. MDS experience, survey preparedness.

PURPOSEAccording to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the LPN Unit Manager has the responsibility of managing and ensuring quality nursing care is provided to all residents through active collaboration with the leadership team and clinical staff as well as identifying and coordinating clinical staff training.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSConsults with nursing staff regarding patient care issues, such as assessments, goal setting, problem identification, and interventions.Reviews Care Plans and progress notes on a regular basis to evaluate progress and growth as well as problems in the nursing care delivery process. Teaches, advises, and counsels regarding the care plan and is available to nursing staff for problem solving, consultation regarding patient assessment and nursing care management.Handles family/physician/staff concerns assisting nursing staff in problem-solving regarding patient care issues and identifying any needs need for continuing educational offerings in the area of patient care. Assists with incident investigations.May act as the Infection Preventionist, completing Infection Prevention paperwork and ensuring Infection Prevention Training is completed.Assists with and provides resident care as needed.Maintains confidentiality of resident and facility information.Responsible for the day to day operations of the assigned departments within constraints of prescribed budgetary guidelines to include accurate and timely payroll submission, HR, A/P, A/R, and billing procedures.Ensures availability of equipment for nursing personnel.Supports and/or directly supervises nursing staff in alignment with our Core Values, to include interviewing, new hire orientation, schedule coverage, performance evaluations, and corrective counseling.Communicates daily with nursing personnel providing clear, concise information as well as specific assignments.Prepares written employee performance evaluations and makes recommendations for salary increases, promotions and terminations.Coordinates facility and departmental training as assigned. This may include new hire general orientation, new hire departmental orientation, delivering and monitoring required annual in-service training, and any other ad- hoc training needs identified by leadership.Coordinates and attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and monthly Nursing in-services.Participates in on-call rotation.
