Apply today to join a great team and receive a robust Totals Reward package!! **Responsibilities:** + Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients and their families, ensuring personalized attention to age-specific needs. + Effectively gathers and interprets patient information, conducting interviews to address healthcare concerns and provide counseling with available resources. + Administers prescribed medications, vaccines, and allergy injections, staying informed on immunization updates and changes in flu vaccine guidelines. + Responsible for sterilizing office equipment and maintaining accurate records of inventory, ensuring timely ordering of stock supplies. + Performs laboratory duties in compliance with OSHA and CLIA standards, ensuring patient safety and regulatory adherence. + Identifies educational needs of patients and communicates these to the physician, providing relevant teaching as requested. + Assists physicians during patient exams and performs specialized procedures, contributing to efficient and effective care. + Maintains professional competence through continuous education, actively participating in relevant learning experiences and documenting progress. Required: + Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program Preferred: + One-year clinical experience + EMR knowledge + EPIC experience **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. Must complete licensure examination within FOUR MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.? Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU. + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
