Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse and/orPsychiatrist/MD, the Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) ) assumes directresponsibility for administering or implementing specific therapeuticprocedures, techniques, treatments, or medications with the aim of enablingrecipients or patients to make optimal use of their therapeutic regime, theirsocial and personal resources, and their residential or inpatient care. The LPTdemonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficientmanner.  The LPT demonstrates criticalthinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care,consistently performs according to established standards and scope of practice,and is accountable for managing and assisting others in the management ofpatient care. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages patient/client care effectively and safely Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate goodinterpersonal relationships with patients/family/significant others, hospitalhealthcare co-workers, physicians, and all facility personnel Gives a basic level of general behavioral and psychiatricnursing care to mentally or developmentally disabled voluntary, involuntary orjudicially committed clients Works with other disciplines as part of the treatment teamto provide an overall treatment program for the client Under general supervision, performs nursing procedures suchas administering medications and treatments, including oral medications,hypodermic injections, urinary catheterizations, enemas, and taking andcharting temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration Observes clients’ physical condition and behavior andreports significant changes to the unit supervisor or physician and recordsnursing notes on clients Prepares and cares for clients during treatments Gives first aid as needed/applicable Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team inthe development of treatment plans and objectives from assessments of theclients Assists in the training of Psychiatric Technician Trainees,Psychiatric Technician Apprentices, Psychiatric Technician Students, PsychiatricTechnician Training Candidates and other ancillary staff as appropriate Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
